Biomass based heating of public buildings of communities from the agricultural areas (farmland) AGRIPELLET-HEAT

The project aims to promote local sources of crop residues renewable energy in the farmland communities and to enhance co-operation between Norway and Romania on development, innovation, testing, evaluation and dissemination of common methodologies, to formulate regional and local strategies for promotion of sustainable use of natural resources, with a life-cycle approach, replacing the fossil fuels to heat the public buildings with arable crop residues produced pellet.

The project objectives are:
   • Assessment and dissemination of the best practices of programs and actions developed in the EU for local fostering the use of bio-energy, decreasing the CO2 emissions and increasing the share of energy from agricultural biomass;
   • Development of pilot experimentations, educational and social activities to change a predominant fossil fuel heating culture, to use more efficient technologies in arable crop waste treatment and remove the barriers that inhibit the sustainable development of agriculture;
   • Promotion the crop residue fuel chain process to increase growth and competitiveness in the agricultural sector.
