Alternative Energy Improving Lives
The World  Bank is supporting some alternative energy projects in 34 countries with the potential to transform poor people's lives. Global investments in renewable energy technology reached $38 billion in 2005. In 2006 wind power development increased by 20 percent, and solar power by 40 percent worldwide.
